TRAINING WEEK INFORMATION

The Marching 110 is open to any students enrolled at Ohio University.  Music Majors make up less then 20% of the 240 member band, and the remaining students represent a broad range of majors from all over campus.  The Marching 110 training week begins in the fall, one week prior to the start of fall classes.  The week begins with incoming member training on the first two days, followed by the return of upperclassmen to training week the next.  On the evening of the third day, music and marching auditions are held.  That night, membership information is posted.  The Marching 110's directors choose 176 individuals for the pregame block, and 192 for the halftime block, and 40+ additional members.

TIME COMMITMENT

The Marching 110 consumes many hours a week in rehearsals, performances, and other events that are required of the band during the season.  The 110 rehearses every day from 5:15-6:45 PM, as well as weekly Thursday evening rehearsals in the Walter Field House and game-day rehearsals in Peden Stadium.

The Marching 110 attempts to help new members' transition to college life by requiring a two-hour study hall each week.  This provides first year students with two hours each week to focus on academic areas away from marching band commitments.
